Cards That Speak From the Heart

You know that feeling when you pick up a card and think "yes — this is exactly right"? That's what Whimsi Lilley is all about — cards for women like us. Warm, a little funny, and written by someone who actually gets it. (Husbands do tend to feature. Heavily.)

Every card is designed, printed, and packed by me in Cornwall, on 300gsm smooth matt card with a matching envelope — and a little care thrown in for good measure.

Thoughtful words, a touch of whimsy, and the occasional husband joke — that's the Whimsi Lilley way.

Where it all began

I started Whimsi Lilley in October 2024 because I kept designing cards in my head that I simply couldn't find in the shops. Cards that felt real — warm and witty, not bland and forgettable. So I decided to make them myself. From this very desk. In Cornwall. With a husband who had no idea he was about to become a muse.

My mission

The right words, sent at the right moment, really can mean everything. By Christmas I was sending out over 150 orders a day — equal parts thrilling and completely chaotic — but seeing people find exactly the right card for someone they love made every late night worth it.

Every Whimsi Lilley card is designed to feel like a small hug in the post — a reminder that someone cares.

The 'other' staff

Betsy is the unofficial Whimsi Lilley cat. She wants full run of the place but, with printers doing their thing, she's not allowed in very often — which she finds deeply unreasonable.

There is also, of course, my long-suffering husband. I do find him rather cute, especially when he offers to get up at some silly hour of the morning to help me print and pack the Christmas orders. He cannot sit in a box on the desk and look as cute as Betsy, but he tries his best.

... and a thank you

Because none of this would exist without you — the lovely customers who've trusted Whimsi Lilley with your happy moments, your celebrations, and your gentler sad moments too. Knowing that one of my cards is sitting on someone's mantelpiece, or made someone laugh on a hard day, is the reason I do this.
